Keith Crouch, AIA, NCARB

Keith CrouchProfessional Background

Mr. Crouch is the Director of the Church Architecture of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Dallas, Texas. He has served as a church facilities planning consultant with the Center since 1987 while conducting over 2,000 individualized church architecture consultations. Mr. Crouch has nine years experience on staff with commercial architectural firms, specializing in religious architecture, healthcare/retirement facility design prior to his current position.

He has provided guest lectures at Southwestern Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, and Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, on topics related to religious architecture and planning. Mr. Crouch has conducted seminars and building consultations throughout Texas and with churches, architects and denominational leaders in the South Carolina Baptist Convention, the Minnesota/Wisconsin Baptist Convention and through the Partnership Missions Program in Germany, Estonia, Hungary, Romania and Canada. He has led a class on the building planning process at the Christian Management Association national leadership seminar and previously led a two day national Church Architecture Briefing for Leadership Network.

Education and Registration

Mr. Crouch earned his bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of Texas, Arlington, in 1981. He is a state licensed Registered Architect, a Registered Interior Designer, a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Texas Society of Architects, and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Mr. Crouch has six years church staff experience in the areas of youth, music and education. Keith’s family has been involved as charter members starting a new mission church sponsored by their parent church.

Russell Maddox

Russell MaddoxProfessional

Mr. Maddox is the owner of Bluff Creek Consulting, providing ministry planning, long range planning and master planning assistance to churches.

Russell worked for the Church Architecture Department of the Baptist General Convention of Texas from 1985 to 2007, consulting with over 2,500 churches. He has worked for commercial architecture firms in Houston, College Station and Fort Worth, Texas, assisting with religious, education, office and residential projects and served as the Minister of Education and Church Administrator for churches in Dallas and Stratford, Texas.

He has lectured at Southwestern Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, and Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, on topics related to religious architecture and planning. He has conducted seminars and building consultations throughout Texas and with churches in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Through the North American Mission Board he provided Long Range Planning assistance to churches in Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Washington and Oregon. He has provided master planning assistance to churches and ministries in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming.

Educational

Mr. Maddox earned his Bachelor of Architecture Design from Texas A&M University and his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He did additional study in administration and education at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.

He has received training on the Life Safety Code, Texas Accessibility Standard and Level 1 Environmental Assessment. He continues to learn from ministry pioneers like Willow Creek, Saddleback, North Coast, Ginghamsburg, Fellowship Grapevine and Fellowship Woodlands, as well as from organizations like Leadership Network, Christian Leadership Alliance and National Association of Church Business Administration.

Personal

Russell has been married to his wife, Dana, for 32 years and they have two grown children and two grandsons.
